| Michael P. | Salem, OR | September 20, 2008 | Senator Am really sick of what you and others like you have done to this country. You have locked up the use of the timber regions in Oregon. Peoples lives have been ruined by these actions. Now we are seeing and paying for your and the others locking up getting the vital oil, coal, shale. Does it bother you at all to think of how many lives have and will in the future be reduced in quality by your actions. Just sick of what has gone on in this country ! |

| Jack M. | Portland, OR | September 20, 2008 | Dear Senators Smith & Wyden, First off let me say that I will continue to vote for both of you because you provide balance and effective representation for Oregonians. If our nation is to continue in its supreme economic position we will literally need more energy. However we will also need to use energy more wisely. The Pickens Plan is interesting and should be considered within the national energy debate. |

| Lisa and Skip A. | Springfield, OR | September 19, 2008 | Thankyou for letting our voices be heard, we do not agree with eco-extremists and were tired of our views being hijacked. Start the development of energy sources now. Oil off shore should be tapped and there should not be a 50 mi. restriction. Pelosis and Reid have already ruined that for us. Oil should be on this list. Lets get started. It will provide jobs and our children and grandchildren will benefit from these energy sources. Do the right thing. You have been bad stewards of our State to let these environmentalists run our lives, our forests and our fisheries. Your jobs are on the line this is serious to us and we expect you to work for the people not extremistist. Fix this mess. Thankyou. |
| Carlos B. | Saint Paul, OR | September 19, 2008 | Gentlemen, It's time to open all option for energy. Yes that means to drill of the coast and wave power. It's time to step up to the plate and boost our economy on the Oregon coast. Geothermal would also boost the economy in central and eastern Oregon. Environmentalists took our logging and fishing jobs away from us, don't let them take these. |

| Arnold S. | Salem, OR | September 19, 2008 | Senators Smith and Wyden, Please give your time and attention to the research and development of Wave Energy here in Oregon. We are perfectly suited to this enterprise and to position our State as the leader she is in the field of alternative energy provision. Arnold V. Strong |

| Brett S. | Tualatin, OR | September 19, 2008 | I hope you will follow through with your speeches, laws and bills that are being proposed to move more energy sources for Oregon forward. The LNG terminal is a great success, we should add many more kinds of economically feasible and environmentally sustainable sources of energy to our energy production. Please don't talk the talk, walk the walk and pass bills that allow for wave energy, nuclear and geothermal power generating facilities to Oregon's portfolio. |
| Rosemarie E. | Salem, OR | September 19, 2008 | I want the environmentalist to stop opposing energy independence with should also include drilling until we come up with other methods. This and to stop illegal immigration with the laws on the book and border control are the most importand points in this election. We spend bill. on the cost of this travesty. I do not want One world order and therefor open borders. The EU systems does not work over here.Sincerely Rosemarie Elrod |
| Phil D. | Welches, OR | September 19, 2008 | Other countries in the world are starting to build more nuclear power and geothermal plants! WHY CAN'T WE???? |
| joshua r. | Hillsboro, OR | September 19, 2008 | x |
| Luella J. | West Linn, OR | September 19, 2008 | Where is the Drilling for oil? I agree that we need all of this power but we also need to drill for oil. Lets make a fuss about that also!! |
| Rodney S. | Salem, OR | September 19, 2008 | Stop the next Market Crisis and drop your support for Carbon Trading!! |
| Robert S. | Portland, OR | September 19, 2008 | x |
| richard l. | Brookings, OR | September 19, 2008 | The US economy runs on fossil fuel. To get to alternative energy we need a strong economy. To have a strong economy we need to drill and erect known energy producers ie nuclear. Oregon has a constitutional ban on nuclear. |
| Sally S. | Eugene, OR | September 19, 2008 | x |
| Art H. | Astoria, OR | September 19, 2008 | Let the markets solve our problems, absolutely. You politicians have consistently proven you are incapable of anything, much less the life-saving requirement of simple energy. How's that destruction of the nuclear power plant working for you? |

| Bryce B. | Lake Oswego, OR | September 19, 2008 | x |
| Bill B. | Fairview, OR | September 19, 2008 | We are "greening" ourselves into the last century. We must push for utilizing almost all available energy sources and continue to look at alternate energy sources but not at the expense of what made us the economic power house that we were once. |

| Burnell S. | Portland, OR | September 18, 2008 | We want action now on our energy policy, and one that works. All you people can be replaced just like Sen. Smith will be replaced for using illigals in his food processing plant. We are getting very mad. |
| David R. | Springfield, OR | September 18, 2008 | If we don't get the cost down on energy, us low income people are not going to beable to eat or drive our cars or ever have a nice home. We will be spending all our money on energy just to stay warm in the winter. We will never have a the chance to beable to have enjoyment in our lives. Those that don't have to worry about paying their energy bills, get to have fun in their lives. They get to go on vacations, they get to have a nice house, cars, clothes, eat out at nice places. Us low income people can't have any fun or buy a house or travel to see family with out having to put ourselves behind. We don't have spare money that we can save for vacations. We are just getting by. Everyone should beable to have a good life, a happy life. If we have to spend some much money on |

| Emcye E. | Portland, OR | September 17, 2008 | Another thing I’ve heard nothing about regarding driling: my understanding is that enriched Plutonium U 2-35 from nuclear fission and other high-level waste is sitting in storage containers now corroding, undersea. It’s been the only way the government could come up with to dispose of these killer toxins - and this was warned against in the early 70’s. How many of these toxic isotopes are being released into the water, plant and fish life - and our air - from the effects of weather changes, earthquakes, tectonic shifts? Will drilling disturb these containers? These radioactive containers sit on the ocean floor right in the center of quakes. Dinasaur thinking, alright. We need innovation.
