Start the development of energy sources now. Oil off shore should be tapped and there should not be a 50 mi. restriction. Pelosis and Reid have already ruined that for us. Oil should be on this list. It's time to step up to the plate and boost our economy on the Oregon coast. Geothermal would also boost the economy in central and eastern Oregon. Portland, OR	September 17, 2008	Another thing I’ve heard nothing about regarding driling: my understanding is that enriched Plutonium U 2-35 from nuclear fission and other high-level waste is sitting in storage containers now corroding, undersea. It’s been the only way the government could come up with to dispose of these killer toxins - and this was warned against in the early 70’s. How many of these toxic isotopes are being released into the water, plant and fish life - and our air - from the effects of weather changes, earthquakes, tectonic shifts? Will drilling disturb these containers? These radioactive containers sit on the ocean floor right in the center of quakes. Dinasaur thinking, alright. We need innovation.
